The Hunt For Tony Blair

The Comic Strip team returns for a special 50s-style 'fugitive' film noir spoof. The film, penned by Peter Richardson and Pete Richens, follows Prime Minister Tony Blair (Stephen Mangan), wanted for murder and on the run. Escaping from Number 10 and leaving behind his adoring wife Cherie (Catherine Shepherd), Tony vows to clear his name no matter what the consequences.

As political satire this delightfully energetic caper never went for the jugular, it alternated between a mallet to the kneecaps and a feather to the toes

The film received its world premiere at the Edinburgh International Television Festival in August 2011. It first aired on Channel 4 on 14 October 2011; it received a mostly positive reaction from reviewers and was nominated for a BAFTA award (Best Comedy Program 2012) and the British Comedy Awards (Best Comedy Drama 2011)
