Soldiers Deserve Proper Punishment for Bergdahl

As proceedings were underway this summer in the case against U.S. Army soldier, and accused traitor, Bowe Bergdahl, his fate hangs in the balance.

While there is very little dispute among military experts, particularly those familiar with the circumstances surrounding his capture, that Bergdahl deserted his unit along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, the challenge the military faces now is what his punishment will be.

But regardless of the sentencing, the length it has taken to punish and hold him accountable is an added disservice to the men and women of the United States military. Especially those who were charged with finding Bergdahl's whereabouts.

Though we as Americans will never leave any man behind, now that this man is back it is imperative that the government does not waste anymore time in bringing justice for the oath that he abandoned.
