....been a couple of weeks since the last video, and it's been so hot that we havn't done much in the garden....starting this week with the apple trees, that do have some fruit, but nowhere near as much as last year, I think the long dry spell in May might be responsible for this....next we go over to the new veg beds, I've covered the newest one and since we've cropped all the spuds now, I've top dressed the older bed with the compost from the potato bags....the tomatoes are all nearly done now, with just a few late one still green on the plants....in the baths there are pickling onions nearly ready, carrots still doing well and I've cropped the last of the cucumbers/ gherkins and cleared the foliage into the compost bin....in the greenhouse the peppers are still giving us plenty and there are still a lot of chillies nearly ready too....outside the chard has become a jungle and the tree spinach is about 9 feet tall and going to seed....around to the centre veg bed and as I've cropped all the spuds here too, the bed has been cleared ready for planting something else next season....also got plenty of leeks, radishes and lettuce going to seed, mint, more lettuce and some parsnips coming along nicely....on the table, a decent harvest of our potatoes, tomatoes, onions and cucumbers/ gherkins....herbs on the porch all going to seed now and finally around to the brassica cage, where the sprouts and cauliflower have been a disaster but the leeks and kale are still going strong....pretty good all round I reckon and I'm quite pleased, especially as this is our first year of growing things on any scale....thanx for tuning in again...💚
