Last time I almost had to kill a potential mugger / very aggressive panhandler …

Safety Alert : A beggar of greater threat to you can and will close in fast an aggressive as an alternative to an exact threat. My “new buddy” was 6’3 and jumped out of the bushes after I came out of a restaurant.

I raised my arms and crossed them in front of me at shoulder level with my chin resting comfortably on my right fist like I was looking at a painting. ( This gets your hands up first )

Somewhere during his monologue I had opened my knife - pointed downwards in my pocket while having my hands right where a drummer would need them.

Eventually stated diplomatically that “ I’m starting to feel uncomfortable….”

I was surprised by the slyness of it all.
The would be con man whatever kicked at the dirt and scurried away calling me an asshole. I hadn’t really moved other than take a step back, bracing my balance and most importantly getting my hands up.

He got really really really lucky.
If he didn’t back away I was going to gut him like a fish. I’m too old to fight fair.

I almost stabbed him for wasting my time.
