This video is to help teach and educate the skydive community. At the end of a great day of skydiving, we were trying to get in another jump when, while climbing to altitude, the pilot informed us that clouds were rolling in and we would need to exit low. This isn't uncommon. As we got on jump run, at a safe exit altitude, the plane started to buck, which for the weather also seemed normal. The pilot checked the automated weather service for the winds, but they had not updated, and nobody was aware of the danger just outside the plane. It became clear very quickly once under canopy that the winds were extremely strong. 5 jumpers to include myself landed off DZ, injuries included a few jumpers with broken ankles, hurt shoulders, backs, legs head. 1 jumper landed in trees a few miles away and broke his foot l. It was a joint effort of fire rescue, police, neighbors, and jumpers to locate and stableize all jumpers. But at the end of the day, everyone was relatively ok, and We had all learned a few new lessons.
