Morocco earthquake: Number of people killed rises above 1,000

The number of people killed in the earthquake has now reached 1,037, according to Moroccan state TV.

Another 1,204 are injured, 721 critically.

The numbers are rising as emergency workers try to access more remote and rural communities around the Atlas Mountains south of Marrakech, where the epicentre of the 6.8 magnitude tremor was.
