Monica Wreck is a sunken ship that ended its journey off the coast of Bavaro Beach, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic over a century ago around the year 1900. The wreck now lies at about 40 feet deep. Divers can now see the remains of this wooden-hulled railway cargo ship that was transporting sugar plantation machinery. After 100 years the ship is encased in coral making it almost indistinguishable from the natural reef. The wreck also sits on top of caverns which are very easy to swim through.

Unfortunately for this dive, there was a huge storm that passed through the night before that caused the water to be stirred up with red algae and seaweed. I was debating whether or not to post this video due to the quality. I decided to post this video, as I want to share all of my adventures whether good or bad. When you are working with nature, you can’t really dictate how it’s going to behave. Trust me when I say, this is the best footage I was able to put together from the hour long video that I recorded.
