Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced inclusion of the African Union as permanent member of the G20 grouping during Session-1 on 'One Earth' of the Summit at Delhi's Bharat Mandapam. The member countries welcomed the decision to admit African Union as a part of the G20 grouping.
