Ethnic Studies #5 The Real Goal or Ethnic Studies Vrs. What They Want Us to See

Hello friends.

As we continue and almost make it through the Ethnic Studies Model Policy, we are struck by repetitive language and contradictions. We point out how the claim is to build bridges to listen to the voices of diverse people in their community, but only listen to those diverse voices "if time permits" That all discussion should focus on the main goals. To Center around the historically marginalized, and to create a CRITICAL Consciousness.

Despite what our numbers show we are creating a stir with our work in some activist circles, and said activist are calling us "irresponsible" for speaking about and making these videos. Perhaps we are hitting too close to the target.

One of the most alarming things we found in this session is the call for "Civil Action" to promote social "justice" remember this is the k-12 crowd.

We also take a few moments to discuss what we believe a healthy program would look like, and I Quote Christine Sleeter saying "that would be a culture of the month and not what we are looking for" No indeed. they are looking to create a progressive revolutionary energy in OUR CHILDREN. The same kind of energy that has in the past resulted in violence and worse.

Contrary to what the activist claim, we aren't a well funded group trying to hide from differences. Each of us has an appreciation and respect for other cultures and personally I long to see wrongs made right in the miseducation of black America. Marxism just isn't the way to do it.
