I started sketching this big composition back in 2004, as an attempt to meld the classical style of Mozart with the ragtime style of Scott Joplin. I started working on it in earnest in 2009 after finishing up several other things, and finally finished the first movement in early 2010 and submitted it as my thesis composition for a Master's of Music at the University of Idaho.

The second movement was mostly sketched out around 2009 or 2010, but got stalled for many years, but finished in 2018. It has a slow jazz-like style, but is quite experimental.

The last movement was only composed in July 2018, and I had no idea how it was going to work until then. Ultimately, I decided on a sort of hybrid ragtime/polka-like dance feel. In addition, the middle E Major section uses material by my mentor Daniel Bukvich, which is the only intended aspect of the piece dating from earlier, as a dedication to him.
