Katunsky reserve. The lens focuses on the amazing nature of one of the highest mountain reserves in Russia. “The Katunsky ridge can be filmed endlessly,” says director and cameraman Ivan Usanov. “Every time you find new perspectives and interesting characters here.”
The authors of the film "Wildlife of the Katunsky Reserve" did a great job of photographing its inaccessible landscapes, flora, fauna, rare and endemic species. The narrator's laconic and accessible narration complements what is happening on the screen. “Spectators are immersed in the mysterious world of the reserve's inhabitants,” says Svetlana Usanova, scriptwriter. - Here is a bear with cubs having breakfast in the meadow.
In the mountains, the healing maral root bloom - Leuzea and Rhodiola rosea. Osprey bird of prey hatched chicks in a nest on a tall spruce. Siberian grayling is spawning in a mountain river. Marals graze on the slopes. Altai pikas dry hay in stony placers. In the thicket of the forest, musk deer feasts on tree lichens. Roe deer, moose, many animals and birds live their natural life under the protection of inaccessible mountains. " “I believe that in the modern world, where everything is bought and sold, nature reserves remain the last stronghold of untouched wildlife,” continues Svetlana. “I would like to believe that our films teach viewers to appreciate the wealth and beauty of nature, to protect it from childhood.” Anna Maimanova, Deputy Director of the Katunsky Biosphere Reserve for Environmental Education, notes: “We have long dreamed of such a film. It turned out to be universal and will be interesting for both children of different ages and an adult audience. While watching, you involuntarily think: "How beautiful our reserve is!" Now we have another powerful tool for eco-education and popularization of the activities of the Katunsky Reserve ”.
