Webinar | Removing the Marxists, Rebuilding the Military
Self-inflicted, Provocative Weakness Invites CCP Aggression, Devastating Conflict
Alabama Senator Tommy Tuberville is best known for his years as a successful football coach. Today, he is running what may be the most important defensive play of his career.
Coach Tuberville is blocking Senate approval of promotions of 300 hundred senior military personnel over the Biden administration’s politicization of our armed forces. Initially prompted by its arguably illegal use of federal funding for servicewomen’s abortion-related travel, his “hold” is now addressing as well the longstanding Obama-Biden agenda of effecting a cultural Marxist “transformation” of the military.
Thanks to Senator Tuberville, the U.S. Senate now has a chance to consider and thoroughly debate the current state and future direction of the U.S. military. Of immediate – and paramount – importance is whether General C.Q. Brown’s appalling mismanagement of the Air Force in his present role as that service’s Chief of Staff should be deemed disqualifying, and perhaps deserving a court-martial. His performance to date is certainly not a justification for a promotion to become the next Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
In addition, Gen. Brown epitomizes a debilitating assault on the U.S. military by cultural Marxists. Unfortunately, he is not alone among senior commissioned and non-commissioned personnel in asserting that priorities for the services must be: racist and divisive Critical Race Theory training; quota-imposing and anti-meritocratic “Diversity, Equity, Inclusion” initiatives; the so-called “LGBTQ+” agenda; transgender accommodations; and climate change.
In fact, research by the Claremont Institute’s American Military Project indicates that at least forty-two percent of the 300 promotions now being held up by Senator Tuberville involve officers who, like General Brown, are enthusiasts for such Marxist formulas for taking down our armed forces.
Senator Tuberville has been roundly denounced by civilian and military leaders for endangering national security by delaying Senate approval of such dubious candidates for promotion. The next Committee on the Present Danger: China webinar, which will be held today from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., will examine the state of America’s military and whether our most dangerous enemy, the Chinese Communist Party is being emboldened by its current, “fundamental transformation.”
If so, the case can – and will – be made that, far from putting national security at risk, Senator Tuberville is making possible the sort of course-correction with respect to both policy and personnel that is urgently needed to remove the Marxists and rebuild the military.
