A July Harvest.
July is the time of year in our area when the harvest really begins in earnest.
Our average last frost date is April 15th and the warm weather crops are at risk if planted before that date. So I want to get as much in as I can, as soon as I can after it is safe to plant. The only problem with that is all the crops begin to ripen at the same time, and well that is a lot to deal with as far as preserving. Oh well, a good problem to have I suppose.
I will update you on the harvest month to month. May was not great although this month is only going to yield cool weather crops I did not get a lot of these crops out in quantity we did get a little over 7# whitch was disappointing. The Asparagus did not produce as normal, It would normally be over 10# in May on its own.
June was another disappointment with only 9.9# Not an excuse but we did not have the new garden fabric in place and the new raised beds were not ready. Weather and budget played their role in that.
We want to be upfront and honest with our viewers, not going to fill the report with fluff. So it is what it is and we move on.
July is going the be better you will see some of the harvests here in this video and will bring you the totals for July at the first of August.
