My Approach To Recruiting

My interview process. I'll run the ad. I wanna make sure they follow the instructions. If they do, then it's a quick qualification call. Can you climb a ladder? Can you lift 50 pounds? Do you have a valid driver's license? Do you have reliable and insured transportations? When would you like to start? And these are just the five like bare bones.

If they're like, I need to start yesterday cause I have no money. That might be a tough one, right? To get them ramped up. So I have that written down. They're qualified to bring 'em in for an interview and I say, I just wanna get to know you a bit before we talk about the position. Tell me about a time that you had to achieve something that was really hard. What was your biggest accomplishment in life? And then you're gonna see if they're a hustler, if they were persistent, right?

You can challenge them. Hey, tell me about the craziest customer you dealt with and how you handled it. Instead of like, how would you handle a crazy customers? So they can start, you can start seeing the truth as they tell these stories. When they're telling stories of the past, they'll tell you the truth versus lying through their teeth.

So I'm looking and I'm literally checking the box. Yes. Are they hustler? Are they have thick skin? Are they persuasive, persistent and confident? And only if they have all five. Will I then transition to selling them on the job. Which we'll talk about in terms of the motivation piece and then the retaining. But I don't do it until I qualify all five.
