Proteus Tutorial: This short video is a step by step guide on how to use Proteus Design Suite (ISIS) 8.12 Software to design a Linear Mode Regulated Power Supply.
The advantage of Regulated Power Supply is that we use this supply with different electronics devices where fixed DC voltage of 5V is required as well as for your customized project where different DC voltages are required.
List of All Components Used in 1.25V to 15V Regulated DC Power Supply
1. Vsine AC source of 220V
2. Diodes as Bridge Rectifier 1N5408
3. Capacitors 0.1uF , 4700uF , 10uF
4. Pot 5k
5. Resistor 220 ohm
6. Step Down Transformer 220V to 12V
7. Voltage Regulator LM317T
Voltage regulators are of different types.
Fixed Voltage Regulators
These regulators provide a constant output voltage. A popular example is the 7805 IC which provides a constant 5 volts output.
Other examples
7805, 7806, 7809 etc.
Adjustable Voltage Regulator
An adjustable voltage regulator is a kind of regulator whose regulated output voltage can be varied over a range. The LM317T which is being used in this project is an adjustable three-terminal positive-voltage regulator capable of supplying more than 1.5 A over an output-voltage range of 1.25 V to 37 V.
