It is the last Sunday of the month which means this weeks #bookoftheweek is Franklin Pierce: Young Hickory of the Granite Hills by Roy Franklin Nichols. And lacking a cocktail called Young Hickory, or even one called Granite Hills, I made an Angry Spiced Rum:

4 oz Angry Orchard Crisp Apple
1 oz Spiced Rum
1/2 oz Lime Juice
3/4 oz Simple Syrup
1 tsp Allspice Liqueur

The recipe says to shake it up. I experienced a small explosion. I recommend stirring.
