The Halitrephes maasi jellyfish, also known as the firework jellyfish, is a species of deep-sea hydrozoan belonging to the Halicreatidae family.

It has been found at a depth of 4,000-5,000 feet near the Revillagigedo Archipelago off Baja California Peninsula, Mexico.

The jellyfish travels in near obscurity for survival purposes, but once illuminated by the ship's light, it resembles an explosion of fireworks.

The species is extremely rare and is one of a dozen to have been ever seen.
