Marshall McLuhan - Artists Alone Directly Encounter the Unknown and the Present

Marshall McLuhan was a Canadian philosopher whose work is among the cornerstones of the study of media theory. McLuhan's writings on communication and technology virtually founded modern media studies.

"The only person who dare encounter the unknown the new directly the gorgon without a mirror is the artist. Artists in any age are experts in direct encounter with the present and they report their probings and findings in all sorts of grotesque designs. This is quite a big flip over It is like saying to the scientist we don't want proof anymore we want prediction. Proof is after all based on classification and repetition it is rear view mirror. Prediction is what is needed at a very fast moving jet-paced period we do not need proofs we need predictions. Accurate predictions That kind of revolution is taking place right under our noses."
