16-18 Aug 2023. During Ship Acceptance Test (SAT) Program of PMS, we have a blackout situation wherein the Shaft Generator Failed to Synchronize. Included in the test is to observe synchronization of different generators for different load conditions. Especially situations in manoeuvering with large load variations. And during PMS observations carried out throughout the whole sea trial, the Shaft Generator Sync Fail is one of the problem.

Come and let us Probe what is the cause of this fault...

First off, we checked the SG Synchronizer Module (44U2). And found out this DC-DC converter supplying 44U2 has no power output. In this case, we will have to use old DC-DC converter decommissioned from old IAS (Lyngsø Marine).

At first opportunity, we are testing again the Shaft Generator Synchronization. And finally, the SG synchronized and connected to the system.
