Just as the BRICS appeared in reaction to the 2007-08 global financial crisis—which showed how destructive London-Wall Street speculation had become—BRICS expansion to include the biggest and most development-oriented Mideast oil-exporting nations, is taking place in reaction to the ascendancy of the “Green Deal” of King Charles et al. in trans-Atlantic policy since 2016-17.
