Lotus 79 - Monza (F1 2019)

Today I drive the championship Winning Lotus 79 from 1978 in the F1 2019 game. I drive the 79 on the day 45 years ago that Italian-American Mario Andretti won the title but his talented teammate Sweden's Ronnie Peterson was in a multi car crash in the older Lotus 78 breaking both legs. Peterson would have a all in one operation on Sunday evening to repair his legs and feet but would lose his like the following day due to a fat embolism. Andretti's title ran in parallels with American Phil Hill who on the day 17 years before won the title for Ferrari after his teammate Wolfgang Von Trips of Germany was killed in a two car crash.
