Should Safe Companies change their policy to one that protects their clientele more in the event of such search and seizures.

Every digital/electronic lock usually has a master or (back door) password that can be used in the event of a lockout, death, or new owner. To gain access to that password you normally have to be a business, locksmith, or customer trying to resolve a customers problem.

If you have a Digital/Electronic or Mechanical/Dial style lock, They keep these factory passwords saved in their system attached to your safe serial number. If you change the electronic/digital lock, they would have no clue what the master is based off of the fact that the lock serial is now different than what they have in system. But the lock maker will have that passcode. Remove all serial number stickers that you can find from both parts of the lock and you have eliminated the ability to directly get a BACK DOOR code to your lock without playing a wild guessing game. IF YOU DONT CHANGE YOUR FACTORY LOCK YOU SHOULD PROBABLY GET RID OF YOUR SAFE SERIAL NUMBER STICKERS THAT ARE LOCATED USUALLY ON THE TOP BACK RIGHT CORNER OF YOUR LIBERTY SAFE

MECHANICAL LOCKS REQUIRE A CHANGE KEY AND ARE A PAIN TO CHANGE AND GET SET PROPERLY. PLEASE CONTACT A LOCAL LOCKSMITH TO COME CHANGE YOUR CODE FOR YOU.
