Too Faithful To The Original? | G-Shock Recrystallized DW-5040PG

In honour of the 40th anniversary of the first G-Shock watch, Casio has released a limited-edition timepiece, the DW-5040PG.

The DW-5040PG is made from recrystallized and deep-layer hardened stainless steel, resulting in a sleek and durable case back, buckle, and band loop that are black ion-plated and gold ion-plated for a striking appearance. The bezel and band are crafted from biomass plastics, which help to reduce the watch's environmental impact.

To pay homage to the original G-Shock development team, the watch is engraved with the words "PROJECT TEAM 'Tough'" on the dial and features a band loop with four stars to represent the 40th anniversary.
