On March 8, 2019, the SpaceX Crew Dragon vehicle separates from the International Space Station, concluding its nearly 5-day presence at the orbital research facility as part of NASA's Commercial Crew Program during the Demo-1 mission. The spacecraft then descends to initiate re-entry into Earth's atmosphere. A little more than 5 hours thereafter, the unmanned spacecraft lands in the Atlantic Ocean near the Florida shoreline and is retrieved by SpaceX crews.
