Cannabis Workers Take A Stand!
The labor movement in the cannabis industry is gaining momentum with unions like the International Brotherhood of Teamsters and the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) working to protect cannabis employees. These unions have successfully negotiated higher pay, workplace safety requirements, seniority, and more for cannabis workers across the United States. The Teamsters launched a national campaign to organize the cannabis industry a few years ago and have since organized more than 1,000 members and won contracts addressing important worker issues. Other unions, like UFCW, have also been active in organizing cannabis workers and negotiating on their behalf. These efforts are setting a standard for labor protections in the growing cannabis industry.
