The art of listening, a lost art, the key to a happy relationship, biblical truth

In this world of texting and emails people no longer talk and they’ve gotten worse at listening. How will you listen is an indication of how much you care! If you’re with someone you love, listening, could be a lot of fun. No two people can see the same situation exactly the same way. But that’s OK! Look each other in the eye and validate each other’s feelings, you don’t have to agree on everything. Just agree love each other. Stay focused, don’t try to fix it and ask clarifying questions. These keys will help you become a better listener, and you will have happier relationships.
When we take vows at the altar, I wish the pastors would add listening to both man in the woman and their vows to each other because it’s that important. The Bible is pretty clear about how we are to treat each other in a marriage situation. We can’t really treat each other well as the Bible suggests/commands without listening well.
And remember to take good care of each other with plenty of rest, good nutrition, and pray together to build a stronger relationship.
I’m a widower who is happily married for decades to a beautiful woman, and I enjoyed almost every word she said.
