In this quick Mix Tip, I'll explain how you can mix background vocals in songs that have a few amount of tracks. Acoustic or Singer/Songwriter songs can be difficult to maneuver. Every mixing decision is under a microscope because you can't hide behind drums or 40 tracks of keyboards. This can make mixing backing vocals difficult. In this video, I use my clip gain trick to get the levels of the vocals where I want them, I then pan them out, and use EQ, De-essing, and MicroShift by Soundtoys.

No matter what DAW you have, FL Studio, Logic, Pro Tools, or Studio One... these settings can be used all around!
