A laminotomy procedure is a surgical technique used to relieve pressure on the spinal cord or nerves by removing a small portion of the vertebral bone (lamina).

It’s often performed to treat conditions like lumbar disc bulges and spinal stenosis. Spinal stenosis is a narrowing of the spinal canal, which can also compress nerves and cause pain or discomfort in the lower back and legs.
