The life in squalid shacks in the Cox’s Bazar district in Bangladesh is grim. But its residents, the Rohingya people, have no other choice. Their homeland of Myanmar doesn’t want them and doesn’t recognise their rights. In 2017, a ferocious army crackdown forced nearly 700,000 Rohingya to escape to safety in Bangladesh.
