Pluto and charon
Pluto and Charon are two celestial bodies in our solar system, and they share a unique and intriguing relationship. While Pluto was once considered the ninth planet in our solar system, it was reclassified as a dwarf planet in 2006 by the International Astronomical Union (IAU). Pluto is located in the Kuiper Belt, a region beyond Neptune filled with icy objects. It has a relatively small diameter of about 1,473 miles (2,377 kilometers), making it smaller than Earth's moon. Pluto's thin atmosphere is primarily composed of nitrogen, and its surface is covered in a mix of frozen ices, including nitrogen, methane, and carbon monoxide. Pluto follows a highly elliptical orbit, causing it to sometimes come closer to the Sun than Neptune.
Charon, on the other hand, is Pluto's largest moon and is often considered more of a binary companion due to its significant size compared to Pluto. Discovered in 1978, Charon boasts a diameter of about 751 miles (1,212 kilometers), which is roughly half the size of
