Melaka's location had made it a major trading centre back in the day. Many traders from India, China, Portugal, the Netherlands, and Arabia flocked to this harbour to buy and sell their goods because of its excellent position. All of these people's traces can still be discovered today, thus finding temples, churches, and mosques on the same street is not surprising. Melaka is becoming one of Malaysia's most popular tourist destinations, with residents, Singaporeans, and Chinese tourists flocking to the city. Melaka's allure stems from its various ancient colonial structures, deep history, street markets, and Peranakan culture.
