Do Czechs REALLY Drink Green Beer? Easter Tradition
In this video I meet up with locals in celebration for a traditional Easter weekend holiday where people gather and socialise and drink green beer which only comes around once in a year in Czech Republic. Zelený čtvrtek (Green Thursday) as it’s known to the Czechs, is the last Thursday before Easter. Thursday commemorates the Washing of the Feet and Last Supper of Jesus Christ with his apostles. It might have also been inspired by the fact that on that day, people were supposed to eat only green vegetables and no meat. I will give this beer a try as its a part of a traditional celebration and it only happens to be available once a year. Inside there was wine and other beers available and traditional alcoholic drinks from the Czech Republic one of the popular one was Slivovice.
