Scots Man Nearly Strangles The Life Out Of Me 🇨🇿

In this episode I am in Zašová which is located in Czech Republic in the the Zlín region. For the first time I attended the Masopust which is a Slavic carnival event for the celebration of the final day of eating meat. How do the Czech people celebrate on this day at this event? People were dressed up in costumes singing and dancing to music in the town then walking through the village. There was check points during the time of the walk where everyone would sing dance to dechovka which in English translation is (Brass band music) There was tradition also food/snacks such as chlebíčky, jednohubkyand koláč and alcohol (Slivovice) there was also competition for prizes to be won from the Košt Slivovice. Masopust is the traditional Czech carnival celebration. The word “masopust” comes from the Old Czech and means “meat fast”. People wear masks, dress up in costumes, celebrate the start of spring, fertility and give farewell to winter. Masopust is a moveable feast day and the last chance to feast before Easter Lent, the 40 weekdays and six Sundays preceding Easter. Most elaborate parades and major celebrations take place the last three days of the Mardi Gras season.
