Why does the Church meet on the first day of the week.
THE NEW TESTAMENT IS TWO PARTS;
THE PART BEFORE THE RESURRECTION AND THE PART AFTER.
Met on the First Day of the week.
The Bible seems to make it clear that observing a Jewish Sabbath is not required:
Mark 2:27-28
27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
(Colossians 2:16-17)
16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you with respect to food or drink, or in the matter of a feast, new moon, or Sabbath days 17 that are only the shadow of the things to come, but the reality is Christ.
