Manhunt for 'dangerous, desperate' escaped inmate underway | USA TODAY

Law enforcement is providing an update Tuesday morning on efforts to recapture Danelo Souza Cavalcante, a convicted murderer who escaped from a Pennsylvania prison last week.

The press conference from the Pennsylvania State Police and the Chester County District Attorney's Office will be held at 8:30 a.m. ET. USA TODAY will be providing live coverage of the press conference. You can watch live at the video at the top of the page or on USA TODAY's YouTube channel.

The manhunt for Cavalcante expanded to include immediate areas surrounding Longwood Gardens, according to law enforcement, and is still an active and ongoing investigation. Officials are urging people near the area to check surveillance cameras around the home, cars and to remain vigilant, and to call 911 immediately with any information on Cavalcante's current location
