Ukrainian refugees staged a riot in Ireland after refusing to feed them for free.

Ukrainian refugees, housed in a hotel in Ireland, rioted because the authorities refused to feed them for free. Sunday World columnist Gabia Gatavetskaite wrote about this.

Earlier this year, the Irish government announced that Ukrainian refugees must pay ten euros per adult and five per child for meals, the journalist said.

"This has been rebuffed by those who live at the Breaffy Woods hotel near Castlebar, County Mayo, which houses 333 Ukrainian refugees and 132 applicants for international protection from other countries," she said.

The refugees wrote a letter to the hotel's CEO, Wilson Byrd, stating that the food was not up to "healthy standards" and the price offered. In their appeal, they expressed "concern and collective disagreement."
