“Progressives Newly Designed Jesus” – Tom Gilson

Nearly every religious group includes Jesus into their belief system. It becomes sort of a Good Jesus Seal of Approval on their belief system. In all nearly all cases they have to redefine who Jesus is in order to accommodate their teachings. For Hindu groups, he is one of many incarnations of Vishnu. For Mormons, he was born on another planet and earned his godhood like all gods before him. Progressive Christians also include Jesus but like so many other groups, they have to redesign their Jesus to fit their beliefs.
