The Andes are one of the highest mountains in the world that form a series of plateaus along the west coast of South America. This mountain range stretches across seven countries including Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile and Argentina. The Andes Mountains are more than 7,000 kilometers long, up to 500 kilometers wide in some places, and have an average height of about 4,000 meters.
