The question is Do you/Did you know who's face is on the banknote of the Czech 1000 CZK that you use when you are spending money in Czech? František Palacký originally from this small village in Hodslavice, north Moravia! In todays video I have something really interesting to show you, which many people don't know. I am in a village in Czech Republic called Hodslavice which is village in Nový Jičín District in the Moravian-Silesian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 1,700 inhabitants. The village is pretty small with not much in the area, it's main attractions are: village pubs, a coop, village animals and a old wooden church dated back from the 15th century which goes by the name of Kostel svatého Ondřeje, a gallery is also in the heart of the village where images show us life in the village many years ago. But most importantly, the main reason what brought me to discover about this village is to find out a bit more about the history. In this village a notable person once was born and lived - František Palacký who was a Czech historian and politician, writer, philosopher the most influential person of the Czech National Revival, called "Father of the Nation". Lets discover more about Czech culture by watching this video based on one of the most famous Czech public figure of 19th century.
