BOEING 747 DEPARTURE + AIRBUS A340-600 at Düsseldorf Airport (4K)

A Boeing 747 Departure and an Airbus A340-600. Two of my favorite planes and when it comes to planespotting I always enjoy watching heavy planes and two of the biggest planes in the world are definitly an amazing sight. We had two rare visitors at Düsseldorf during the last weeks. A Boeing 747-400 of Lufthansa is a very uncommon visitor but due to thunderstorms at Frankfurt a B747 was diverted to Düsseldorf that morning and it departed back home to Frankfurt during sunny weather conditions. Just a few hours later an Airbus A340-600 suddenly showed up at Düsseldorf aswell, also as a weather diversion from Frankfurt. I rushed to the airport twice that day and barely made it in time. Quite amazing to see these heavy planes of Lufthansa at my home airport that day.

Another amazing highlight was the Hercules from Marocco which arrived from Rabat. Hercs are quite rare at Düsseldorf and we haven` t seen one of these at Düsseldorf for almost four years. I also included a new Boeing 777 operator at DUS. Southwind recently took delivery of their first B777 and they replaced MGA Airways on the Antalya route.
