What Does Next Phase of Terrorism Mean for the West?

With ISIS all but contained and defeated at their battlefield stronghold in Iraq, and on its heels in Syria, the ideology upon which the group was founded continues to grow and fester beyond the Middle East.
No matter the status of the boots on the ground jihadists in far away lands, it is imperative to our safety that we stay steps ahead of the next stage of terrorism.
Failure to do so will result in our new norm that resembles what those in areas like Iraq and Syria have grown accustomed.
Common held day to day ways of life will be threatened if our guards are let down.
