Monsoonal moisture is retreating back to the east, allowing us to dry out a bit and see a return to sunny skies. It will still be hot, just not as humid. Bakersfield will reach 104 today, like yesterday, with another afternoon of bad air quality. The mountains will be hot again too, with mid-to-upper 90s in the Kern River Valley, a high of 90 in Tehachapi today and 87 in Frazier Park. I will leave a slight chance of showers up there mid-day into sunset.
