Man Chases Away Bear With a Broom

On July 7, 2017, in Kuusamo, Finland, something unusual happened. A man had an encounter with a bear outside his house. He told the story and said "My dog (Russian toy terrier) started to bark, I looked out of the window and saw the bear who was trying to sneak the plastic back filled with empty bottles. I ran outside and yelled at the bear not to take it. I took my dog safe inside and started to drive the bear away with the broom."Show more

When looking outside your house window, you don't usually expect to see a bear. For this man, he did see a bear and he wasn't too happy with the bear trying to break open his plastic bag full of bottles. When he opened the door to tell the bear to go away, the bear made a giant jump backwards and started running away very quickly. He was very startled but he wasn't completely gone. The bear was standing around the trees so the man took out a broom. Only then did the bear finally start to move away!
