Babrak, a former mujahideen fighter, was once among those afflicted by addiction. Today, his mission is to provide vital support to individuals seeking recovery in one of the capital's underserved drug rehabilitation centers.

Since the Taliban assumed power in 2021, the withdrawal of international aid and the impending collapse of public services have made their mission even more challenging.
