However a guy called Chris DeWolfe bought the MySpace domain, thinking it might be useful in the future. Of course he was right - but for a while, he did nothing with it. Instead, him and a friend called Tom Anderson founded a direct email marketing firm called ResponseBase, which created email newsletters for other companies. Little did they know that this business partnership would lead them to creating a billion dollar company with millions of users.
