A few protesters crashed New York City mayor Eric Adams's work authorization rally near city hall on Thursday.

The mayor was advocating for migrant work permits and more funding from the federal government to deal with the migrant crisis in New York City. There are currently between 50 to 60 thousand migrants residing under city care. The mayor recently stated that the crisis costs New Yorkers 9.8 million dollars a day and could amount to 12 billion dollars per year.

Migrants started flooding to New York City since Texas governor Greg Abbott started busing them to sanctuary cities, with New York City being the main destination about a year ago from the Texas, Mexico border.
