God Is a Rewarder

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:

Have you ever pushed yourself to win an award or prize? Perhaps it was to be successful in academics, sports, or business.
What motivated you to do that?
How did you stay focused?

1 Cor. 5:10 “We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.”
Knowing that there is a judgment for believers (and eternal rewards for good works unto God) is highly motivating; but most Christians are not even aware of it.
What kind of motivating effect do you believe focusing on eternal rewards would have on our day to day lives? (What would be the result if we thought about that every day?)

We will be rewarded for even the small, good things we do unto God. Interesting that God says that we will receive what is due for what is done, whether good or bad.
We know receive forgiveness if we repent (1 John 1:19)
We don’t understand how this will play out, but this fact should definitely keep us from doing things that displease God! And it should motivate us to repent of things we are doing that don’t please Him.
Matt 12:36 “Everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every idle word they have spoken.”
I heard a man who died on the operating table share. He went to heaven, and the Lord gently but firmly said “Remember Matthew 12:36? I meant that.” It had a huge impact on him!
Why do you think we shy away from truths like this in the bible?
Do you believe this kind of truth helps us to have the fear of God?

What are some things that please God, that He will reward?

What are some things that we can actually do on a regular or even a daily basis, that will be greatly rewarded for eternity?

PRAY FOR:
The darkness of this nation to be broken. For it to be removed. The blinders removed.
This generation to awaken to God. To awaken to truth. Salvation! Freedom!
For the fear of God to return.
For the church to awaken. For the church to reconnect with God.
For those who have fallen away from God – those who were once faithful but slipped away.
For the power of God in the church again.
