Impeachment inquiry of President Biden is a ‘natural step forward,’ Speaker McCarthy says

Speaker Kevin McCarthy hinted on Sunday that the likelihood of launching an impeachment inquiry against President Joe Biden was increasing, describing it as a “natural progression” as Congress prepares to conclude its summer recess and House Republicans look to expand their investigative authority.

McCarthy, a Republican from California, has refrained from committing to a specific impeachment vote or offering a timetable for potential action.

Some House Republicans are enthusiastic about pursuing allegations of financial impropriety involving President Biden’s son, Hunter, the Associated Press reported.
