PREGNANT MOTHER of TWO, SHOT by OHIO POLICE following accusations of SHOPLIFTING! Was it JUSTIFIED?

Responding to calls of shoplifting at Krogers in Westerville, OH, two police officers of Blendon Township arrived on scene to find, Ta’Kiya Young entering her vehicle. Having matched the description of one of the shoplifting suspects, it's alleged that two officers approached Ta'Kiya just as she was entering her vehicle. As one walked in front of the vehicle, standing inches from the bumper, the other stood by the driver side window, yelling that she exit the vehicle.

After a few seconds of going back and forth with the officers, it's alleged that Ta'Kiya placed the car in drive and began to drive off. The officer standing in front of the bumper drew his gun and shot through the windshield, striking Ta'Kiya in the torso. The car rolled a few feet then stopped. The officers broke the window and pulled Ta'Kiya out the car.

Emergency response eventually arrived and took her to St. Ann’s hospital where unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. Ta'Kiya was 21 and pregnant, expected to give birth to a daughter in November; she was also had two young sons, ages 6 and 3.
