Apple crisp
For the apples:
6-8 apples
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
For the topping:
3/4 c. old-fashioned oats
3/4 c. all-purpose flour
3/4 c. brown sugar
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
3/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1/2 c. butter, softened
INSTRUCTIONS:
Prepare the apples:
1. Peel and core the apples.
2. Slice into about 1/4-inch slices and place in a 9x13-inch baking dish.
Prepare the topping & bake:
1. In a mixing bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix with a fork until
well combined.
2. Cut softened butter into small cubes. Add butter to the brown sugar mixture.
3. Use a fork to cut the butter into the brown sugar mixture until it turns into crumbs. Don't over-mix
it into a dough or batter.
4. Sprinkle evenly over apples.
5. Bake at 375℉ for 35-40 minutes until apples are tender.
6. Serve warm, at room temperature, or cold - whichever you prefer.
